Description
Good day, ladies and germs... (ahem)We are a small Karate Organization. Our organization has put together a number of video clips aimed at instructing students on technique for basics, forms and fighting. Some clips are simple instruction, while others actually show how to perform the movements.
The site ideally provides a you-tube experience - the home page shows some featured videos, and there is a search function for specific requests. There would also be an indexing system:
Home ---- Basics ---- Kicks
| |--- Blocks
| |--- Strikes
|-- Fighting
|-- Forms
Etc... They can expand each tree to get to the options below.
A lot of this material is available on youtube and elsewhere, but it is unvetted and not necessarily correct. We are looking to establish a repository of "good" information.
We need the following:
1) Needs to be membership style - payable through Paypal, or secured transactions. Customers can purchase access to a video for download "per use", or get a quarterly / annual membership for complete access.
2) Need to provide access for video storage on some media server, and allow smooth viewing. We don't anticipate high streaming volumes from this site, but there is a lot of video for storage. Depending on costs for storage, we can upload some and simply remove those that have low clicks. By adding a "What would you like to see" option, we can then titrate the content for demand.
3) Need to provide a simple interface for an administrator to upload and tag new videos and to remove old videos, as well as be able to manage membership. There has to be security to allow passworded access for general membership that expires once the billing period expires. There should also be a mechanism for price changing, "specials".
4) We would like to be able to have a video of the month accessible for free.
5) Depending on cost so far, some Flash animation - silhouette of a karateka perhaps doing a form on the banner.
6) Space for potential advertisers.
7) A blog/twitter page for Sensei to make comments and allow users to comment. We should be able to delete profanities (or is there a way to screen for them before they are posted?)
