Description

Exciting new challenging project to design from scratch. We need a partner than just a one off contractor. This is because we plan on offer website design to our drop-shipper and retail customers to have their own website which means we will both get more business.


Using : Magento Software with add-on
We need structure of our website developed as we will use the same design but have different
frontend shops.
If you have another open source ecommerce software you think would be more suitable please let me know and why. We are NOT interested in Oscommerce.

Shopping cart
- Can add, unlimited products, categories, web links, Search button for specific products
- When designing the categories I can change around the category orders.
- Would tell the customer if the product is out of stock
- Can see the status of their item.
- Can create relationship/rule with each product and categories so if they look at one thing there will promote a few other items which people who typically look at the product would naturally be interested in.
- Ability to click on a product and it will go to a page which is designated to that product giving description; more pictures other customer’s reviews, rating. (obviously we can delete or rearrange the customers rating or review)
- Seeing the different things on the first page which will be updated daily to weekly featuring offers, information etc...
- Can click on the country and see the price in their currency as the website automatically updates currency exchange rates on a daily basis.
- Customer can choose a type of item and it will view items by sorting them into prices if highest first or lowest first
- Ability to click on the picture and a pop up box showing a larger picture


Customers sign in
- Customers will sign up to process the order
- Non-Business customers = Maintain their account - amend their details/ see order history, order statuses, saved ordered/ points see their history/if they are in credit/ personal promotions.
- See the status of their order.
- Able to download the info to a offline database
- Update billing address and delivery address ( they can have more than 1 shipping address stored because they might have 2 work address or home address. Or if it is a retail customer he might have a few regular customers)

Flash banner (something like this http://www.290preowned.com ) Also like the look of this site so want it to look as slick as this. But if I saw a flash banner on the net and wanted to buy it and use it then I can do so without it affecting anything else. We do not require the entire website to be done in flash. If customer doesn’t not have flash we want the website to still be able to work.

Online secure payments
- Accept by various payment methods (cheque, credit card/ Postal Orders/ Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, debit card). Needs to ve 3D payment eg when you pay via VISA/ Mastercard the screen will be diverted to VISA/Mastercard website where they need to put in their password. If they do not pass that test then the order wont go through.
- See from each order if they have paid and if possible automatically update the system informing payment has gone through like ebay.
- Disable certain payment services based on a zone basis eg outside UK we do not accept cash foreign cheques and Paypal foreign transaction cost a little bit more etc…


Shipping
- Weight, price, and destination based shipping modules, UK has 3 different zones eg UK mainland, UK offshore, UK highlands, Northern Ireland and London zone surchrages. If there is a way of stating under these postcode
- option to use the shipping companies such ups/dhl/ Parcelforce/ Royal Mail
- Non ups/dhl I need to be able to give real time quotes
o From the table of countries, each country is linked to a zone and the zone is linked with price per kg.
o There must be a percentage box as couriers add on fuel surcharge which changes on a regular basis,
o vat box ( if outside the EU and tax and duty is not on our system for that country then no vat just need to inform the customer to speak to their tax office to find out the tax).
o The box featuring the total amount will be linked to another box telling me to add on the mark up so that I can cover the cost of packing.
o After they can tick to say if they want insurance cover for shipping which is additional to postage and packing charges.
- Free shipping based on amount and destination
- Ability to add more than 1 shipping company in order to give the customer a choice of price. This is because it for that weight, dimension and destination area it might be cheaper to go via Royal Mail but the customer might want it signed for, before 9am delivery or going via courier. Plus each courier have different maximum weight.
- Disable certain shipping services based on a zone basis tax functionality
- Contact us to get shipping details if it’s over a certain weight or in a different country.
- Able for me to add on a link from our website to the customers so they can track their parcel.
- A box to tick they have read the terms and conditions. If they want to see the terms and conditions they must click on a word terms and condition for a box to appear.
- When person put in the postcode, a box will come up to tell them to pick which one of the address is theirs. When they do click on the address it will automatically fill out the boxes for them. If they don’t want to choose from the list they can still manually put in their address. ( This is pretty common add on- example can be found on www.parceldrop.co.uk)


Tax Functionality
- Flexible tax implementation on a state and country basis
- Set different tax rates for different products to different countries
- Charge tax on shipping on a per shipping service basis
- Wholesale customers can add in all the products they want and we will let them know the shipping price and send them an invoice for them to pay.

Easy back end as anyone with little or no experience with it can figure out how to use it.
- All the features of Magento open source ecommerce eg Add/Edit/Remove categories, products, manufacturers, customers, reviews, promotions, pictures etc...
- Want to integrated joolma to make it easier to write articles, product info etc... not sure how it works but I have been told it is the best free software to integrate into a website. Please advise.
- Can upload products from a excel spreadsheet. But it won’t be featured on the website unless the box is ticked telling the website which customer category we want to show it to. If non of the box is ticked then it won’t show to any customers.
- The main administer who will tell the computer what each administer are authorised to do.
- The main administrator and designated administer who has access can change a person’s status from retailers/ drop shippers/ consumers.
- Easy to print off/ download shipping order information for us to easily dispatch the order and to download to the system so we can easily transfer it to couriers shipping software to print off labels etc... In addition, we can update the system when the consignment is shipped so if they log on they can see the process history and we know that is done. Also an email will be fired off to them informing them their parcel has been dispatched. If they are sending it to someone else and they put down the delivery persons email a email will be sent to them telling them that they should be expecting a parcel. It’s like ebay.

Statistics (Zencart offer this facility - I need one which will work for magento)
- Ability to see what each customer’s traffic statistics in order for us to try to market them what they want. I don’t mind if you used a add on or if you design have done designed as long as it has all the information.

EG broken down to : referring page
referring query (so we can get at keywords used if search engine)
landing page (including query string - important for Pay Per Click campaign assessment)
arrival time
exit time
exit page
IP address
country code / country name
customer's cart contents
Number of clicks on the site (accuracy is not 100% as this is recorded based on session ID)
Categories Viewed
Products viewed
Customer ID (if signed in)
Order ID (if order was placed)
Were products added to cart (true/false)
Did the customer Checkout (true/false)

this is so we send send promotions to them of things they like

Customers
- At the moment there are three types of customer’s retailers, drop shippers and consumers (general public). But later on I might add some others for example charity worker might get a different price.
- All new customers or guest customers would see consumer prices.
- Anyone who wants to apply as any other category has to sign in and they will be told to scan in evidence that they are a business before we can change their status to any other customer. Example of this type can be seen on superufo.com. Please make it easy for the administrator to be able to add or take off different type of customers as business evolves.

Pricing shown to the different customers
- There will be 4 columns, one for our brought price (excluding and including VAT), retail markup, drop shipper markup and the other for consumer markup.
- Brought price column have 2 boxes one showing the price excluding VAT and the other including VAT. If the excluding VAT box is filled the price including Vat will automatically shows up on the other box. But if the box including VAT is filled then the other box is kept blank.
- The retail and dropshipper will have 3 boxes
1st box - actual selling price to shown to the customer
2nd box – shows the % difference from the brought price and box 1
3rd box – shows the price including VAT
Whichever box I input the other on will update. Eg let say in the product cost £1, I want to sell it at £1.50, so I will update £1.50, then the % box will automatically tell me this is a 50% mark up.
- On the customer column there will only be 2 boxes prices calculated from the brought price including VAT.
1st box - price I want to sell at
2nd box – shows the % difference from the brought price
- For the additional customers categories, I suggest the computer which prices to show them depending on the categories and possibly a % discount on the consumer price. Eg. A customer who owns a car engine shop might get a dropshipper prices on the selected categories related to engines only and get 5% discount on the accessories and In car entertainment equipment. Or if it isn’t a business, using the example of the charity worker she might get a discount of 5% of the consumer price, on everything featured.
- All consumers and additional customers’ categories will be shown the price of the consumer price and then a price according to their discount. So when it comes up to checking out it will show what they would have got charged and the total amount of discounts gained and then the total price they need to pay before going to the shipping page so that cost of shipping can be added.
- With the checkout pages for the dropshipper and retailer, their page will show the price of excluding VAT and then a adding 17.5% at the end for VAT, before showing the total owed. Eg, total £10.50 excl VAT, then £1.84 for VAT = Total owed £12.34 before going to the shipping page.
- For International customers ourside the EU all prices will be excluding VAT
- For all dropshipper and retail customers if they put down their VAT number they will get the price excluding VAT when they checkout. Otherwise VAT will be added at the end when they check out.

Marketing
- Offer loyalty scheme for our customers. Eg for every £1 spent they will get 1 point. If they have a certain amount of points they can redeem it against any product up to a certain value.
- A number of selected products/ categories will have more points as an alternative promotion to marking down the price. Otherwise all products will off the standard point calculator.
- Now the standard point calculator can be changed. This is because if there was a time I wanted to say right I don’t care what you buy, for any purchases made from this date till this date everyone will get double points then I can do.

- I can generate the standard coupon to email to customers when there is need to.
- Friends can buy a gift card for their friend.
- Automated display of specials
- We can send emails/newsletters/questionnaires
- We can add more boxes to their personal details sections or take them off.
- If you can put a protection on visitors copying content eg words and pictures from the website this would be great.
- Structurally the framework of the website must be built with SEO in mind, in order for SEO professional to continuously update the website to get up the search engine rankings. Plus add in RSS feeders.
- Referral tool and affiliate scheme

Ltd http://www.jagtapinfotech.com only to find out 3 months after the deadline has passed from the project manager they cannot do the job. When the job was finally given to another developer they confirmed to us that the work this company did was below industry standard. Therefore, we only take on jobs where we pay via escrow or via pay at the end when the job is done. You will design the work and host it on their server to show to us only when its finished we will make payment. Then you will transfer the work to our server and make the amendments needed. You must maintain continuous communication while site is being built is, in order to help you to not make assumption and cost you money and time to correct the issue and dampen relationships.
