Description

MCU: 68HC908JL3
Language: Assembler

We need to control the speed a 24VDC asynchronous motor with feedback for constant torque.

- Rotation only needs to be in one direction.
- The MCU will have two push button inputs to increase/decrease the speed of the rotation.
- Feedback will be by rotary encoder on back of motor.
- 16x2 LCD (HD44780) to display as follows:
Top line left - SLOW
Top line right - FAST
Bottom line - Bar graph indicating current speed setting, ie. 1 bar=slow, 16 bars=fast
- Source code MUST be well commented and well structured for future works.

Hardware will be built to suit source for testing so inputs used is not critical.

Supplier will need to send .s19 file for programming/testing. Once tested, payment will be made and .ASM file will be required.

Additional information submitted:

09/17/2009 at 1:36 EDT:
Please see the attached PDF for encoder specifications. We will be using the ME52 (2 pulse per revolution) encoder.

09/17/2009 at 3:26 EDT:
We can also use the 12 pulses per rotation if this makes it better for slower speed.

09/17/2009 at 6:44 EDT:
NO PIC's, NO ATMEL's, NO FPGA's, NO ZILOG's PLEASE!! USE ONLY THE MCU REQUESTED.

If bid wins ,will require your motor characteristic, for selecting optimum encoder, also Max RPM Min RPM Min step control the uC is no longer made by Freescale, but if that is your choice no problem. Schematic will be given in three days so you can set up the hardware by the time software is is designed and simulation complete.

I will need a hardware prototype in my hands to program this project. I will do it in assembly. I will implement a digital PID loop that will bring the motor to the set speed as quickly as hardware will allow. I have done a very similar project before on a similar chip, the Freescale NE64. I will easily do it again for you on the hardware you specify.
