I can do it with a microcontroller with a 1-2 line LCD, and the 3 buttons. An easy way is with RS232, which can be connected wia a RS232-USB converter to an USB port. The unit will be encaplosed ina box discussed later. The PC sotware based on MS Win will be on VB. B.R. Zoltan

I would develop a solution using the AT89C52 Microcontroller and two line 10 digit LCD without Backlight. Input entry would be done using a keypad. The whole system would be a compact unit easily operatable using a 9V battery.

Hello, I have good experience in this type of work and already done some very similar work which works nice. I can use black and white graphic LCD or 20 characters by 4 line LCD for this project.
