This bid is for initial consulting only. We have designed an ebook based 2 different displays. One with LCD and another with eInk. The platform was based on OMAP 35xx processor and Linux platform. For the form factor you are looking for we don't believe you can achieve $40 to $50 price range. You may be able to achieve $75 to $80 in large volumes. We can license our current platform and it can be tailored to your requirements. We have lot of experience in this area. We can help you take this product from concept to manufacturing. If interested, we can discuss further to refine the spec and target pricing.

In this amount there is no cost for prototype parts included. Target price of USD50(about) should be for more than 10K pcs.

Not sure what development environment you are using I have tools for IAR ARM, Atmel,Microchip.
