Description

Company's career page scraping project... if successful will extend scope/duration/value of project.

I want to create a daily, automatically updated private database of new and existing jobs scraped direct from my clients websites. This will aid me by saving time which is currently spent manually looking up company's careers pages for new jobs.

Stage 1:
I am looking for a programmer to initially set up a scraping tool to automatically scrape the careers pages of the following websites:

Deloitte: http://careers.deloitte.com/glob/experienced-professionals/opportunities.aspx

PWC: http://ukjobs.pwc.com/fe/tpl_pwclhs.asp?newms=hm

KPMG: http://jobsearch.kpmg.newjobs.com/

E&Y: https://tas-ey.taleo.net/careersection/gexp01/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en&location=20340131673

(Each site will have its own challenges as they are set up in different ways.)

I need the following data to be collected for each individual Job Opportunity which exists worldwide on the above websites:

1.Job Title (with link to job description)
2.Department
3.Location (City)
4.Location (Country)
5.Date (if available, if not then mark the Job with current date)

Stage 2:
The above data should be automatically collected on a daily basis and compiled into a database which can be easily filtered / searched etc.

Stage 3:
A simple GUI should be created for interaction with the database i.e. search / filter / order list

The database should also notify 1. which jobs have been newly added and 2. which jobs have been deleted/removed from the database each day.

Future:
If successful, there will be many more company's career websites added to the scraped database of Jobs and potentially this will be rolled into a new careers website which aggregates job opportunities.

The above project must be completed within 30 days of start date.

Hi, I've just completed a very similar project for the guys at www.roomsearcher.co.uk. The project was to extracted property adverts from www.gumtree.com (titles, descriptions, images, dates available, etc) and insert all into a MSSQL database for the roomsearcher.co.uk website which filters the data, the filter was programmed by myself and can be used here: http://www.roomsearcher.co.uk/Page/Property/Search.aspx?PG=1. I have the code at hand in VB.NET and your problem is much less complicated than the described. I’m new to this site (offshore structural engineer by trade) but a very experienced programmer; things are quiet at work at the moment. This would be a nice project. Kind Regards, Richard Whitaker
