Description

This project is to be done primarily in microsoft access using VBA for the little bits and bobs.

The most notable part of VBA will for you to create a composite primary key.

Each person at kent sports club is put into one of six guilds inside this sports club. Each guild participates in regular events throughout the year. The guilds compete against each other in these events and are placed 1-6 in each event. The guilds earn points for their place in each event and the guild with the most points at the end of the year wins the guild prize, there are also various other prizes each guild can win for individual events.

The system needs to keep track of each place each guild was placed in every event, use a sample of guild names and a sample of events (min 10). The system needs to add up all the guild points and produce a report of which guilds won what event and what prize they recieve for this event. All basic functions are also needed (further detail will be given as project progresses) like searching etc.

As well as the administration of the guild events, the guild master also has to keep track of each person who participate in these events. The people in each giuld also earn points according to how well they do in each event, 5 points is given for good effort and 10 points are given for good effort and achievement. These points for each event are added up and if 30 points are earned, a person wins a sports club badge, however if 60 points are earned outstanding sports badge is earned. If a person earns more then 12 points the cycle restarts and badges can be re-awarded.

A much more detailed spec will be given once winning bidder is chosen.

Dear Sir or Madam: Thank you for the opportunity to submit my proposal for your project Microsoft Access Database with a little VBA. Enclosed please find all information relative to my skills and experience, as well as a plan for project implementation, cost, and time estimates. I see from your project description that you are looking for an experienced MS Access programmer to assist you with the development of club – event tracking program which tracks Events, group standings, individual standings and awards annually. I have many years of experience is designing, developing and deploying MS Access applications that are used by either single users or in a networked environment. I have dealt with high volume data entry applications in which multiple users interfaced with a single backend database for tracking high volumes of incoming mail. Other types of applications dealt with mail sort machines pattern designing and maintenance, production reporting and report designing and data entry prototyping. Some of the applications I have designed functioned as an intermediary between multiple MS Access databases and various SQL Server databases in a multi-server environment. In all of these instances I was the sole designer and developer for the applications. I functioned also as the main application support for the applications as I recruited and trained other support personnel. The types of applications I have dealt with ranged from high volume data entry applications in which multiple users interfaced with a single backend database for tracking high volumes of incoming mail to managing mail sorting machines’ pattern maintenance and generation to production reporting and report designing as well as data entry prototyping. Some of the applications I have designed functioned as an intermediary between multiple MS Access databases and various SQL Server databases in a multi-server environment, centralizing many types of data to produce operational and production reports. In all of these instances I was the sole designer and developer for the applications. I functioned also as the main application support for the applications as I recruited and trained other support personnel. I, therefore, feel that I am qualified to produce an efficient and easy to use application for your association. If selected for the project, I would like to begin by talking with you to review the finer points of the project and any materials and research created thus far. My experience with this scale of project leads me to believe that it can be done in about 6 to 8 days. If selected for the project and the timeline changes, I will notify you immediately once I become aware of the timeline and we can discuss the reasons for and remedy of the change.
