Description:	Data Extraction Program and/Database Creation I am open to discussions on price but within reason. The stated budget range is not the issue. The service and quality of the product and ease of use are. I know is actually high if the method is development of an extraction program. The budget is perhaps reasonable for creation of a database because of the volume of records. I am open to discuussion on which is the best way but time is important to me. In any event my primary goal is to obtain a current searchable Florida Prisoners Database which is searchable and which may be sorted by various simple criteria. All the information to create this database for each prisoner is located on a single page for each prisoner. The single page is called the “Inmate Population Information Detail” sheet. The database must be assembled individually from those single pages and this is why an extraction script is necessary. To understand the project one must simply access the Florida Department of Corrections Website. Again, all the information to create this database for each prisoner is located on the Inmate Population Information Detail Sheet for each prisoner. Prisoners in Florida Department of Corrections (a/k/a DOC) may be located here: http://www.dc.state.fl.us/index.html Once here click Offender Search Click ”Search All Corrections Offender Databases” Locate all inmates in age range between 13 and 110 This should yield all records which number 98,000 records. Current Custody: CLOSE Current Release Date: 09/22/2027 The relevant fields for the desired database are: DC Number, Name, Race, Sex, Birth Date, Initial Receipt Date, Current Facility, Custody Status, Current Release Date. Note: Some prisoners may be sentenced to Life in Prison and this is noted as such for them. I also want the database to have the current address of each inmate: A facility list for all correctional institutions is located here: http://www.dc.state.fl.us/orginfo/facilitydir.html So once the initial database is created and the current facility identified we need the address information to be added mailing purposes. I am open to suggestions on how to best do this whether it be an extraction program and/or database creation. I do not know the first thing about using a database program but I am under the impression that Access may be the best database program to use because it allows one to manipulate and examine data in various ways. However, I may be wrong and Excel may be sufficient however again, I would not know so I must rely upon the provider to suggest. I would also request assistance in learning how to use the database after it is completed due to my not being educated in the use of database programs. Any Questions may be addressed through PM.
