I am trying to convert contact information from my HP 200LX palmtop (DOS) to Microsoft Entourage to then import into my iPhone. I used the program OL2LX.EXE (www.ccdominoes.com/hplx) to load it into Windows Outlook. It did a fair job, but not perfect due to mismatched fields, etc. For example, in the palmtop I have a Full Name field which may have "Last Name, First Name" format for names, or just a company name. Phone numbers might have "cell" next to them, and the program doesn't know to put that into a mobile number field. I also have a free text field that partially copied over to a Notes field, but sometimes broke it up into more than one record.

I exported these contacts by CSV into Microsoft Entourage on my Mac. I would like someone to clean up the database for me, consisting of about 739 contacts. The original palmtop database has 14 fields. The new file would have a few more with separate fields for first name, middle name, last name, company name, and some of the phone number fields have two entries (for example 555-1234 cell/777-1234 pager). All phone numbers should have area code "253" if only 7 digits are included (USA phone number). Some of the notes fields have email addresses that would go into the email field. All the entries have a category that would need to be matched with a similar Entourage entry. If there are entries that you are uncertain about, then assign the category as Junk and I will check them.

I can supply the data as a PDB file (for the HP 200LX) or as a CSV file, or perhaps something else if needed. Ideally someone would be able to use the PDB file, as the CSV file is not as complete, but I realize that it may not be feasible given the age of the technology. Information in the final product can be compared with the original database using GDBWIN.EXE (http://www.palmtoppaper.com/ptphtml/51/5100001d.htm).

If this is successful, I have some additional smaller contact databases I may want to convert.
