A French Pharmaceutical Company, Sanofi-Synthelabo, produced Rimonabant (Acomplia® and probably also Zimulti). Rimonabant is a new obesity drug treatment with the possibility of use for other ailments. In Britain, this diet pill was publicly approved on June 28th 2006 with several European countries and other countries around the world also giving approval for use of the drug. This could someday lead to FDA approval in the United States, but there are no guarantees as the FDA has strict policies concerning new medications available on the market, and a recent application for the drug did not receive FDA approval for USA markets
