Description:	------------------------------ Business Description ------------------------------ Boutique Wineries (www.BoutiqueWineries.com.au) is an online boutique wine gateway, currently representing over 130 wineries from wine regions all over Australia. Boutique Wineries focuses on providing customers with easy and convenient access to the wines made by many of Australia’s finest, yet small, boutique wineries. This access gives the customer the opportunity to enjoy beautiful wines that are otherwise difficult to find. Many of our customers know Boutique Wineries as the place to find that particular wine that they once tasted on a winery tour, and yet haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Boutique Wineries is also “the place” to enjoy wines with a difference. While there are over 2,000 wineries in Australia, the customer will be hard pressed to find the majority of them except at their cellar doors! So, there are a lot of beautiful, fine wines out there that we just don’t ordinarily get to hear about... wines from all of the wine regions across Australia. When ordering through Boutique Wineries, the customers are ordering direct from the winery, just as if the customer were at the cellar door. The winery packages the wine and sends it straight to the customer. ---------------------- Project Purpose ---------------------- To create more interesting content for our website visitors so they enjoy spending more time on the website reading about wine in general and specifically about some of the wineries listed on www.boutiquewineries.com.au To do this, the project is broken into 3 sections: 1. create a short email survey designed to draw out interesting information about the wineries and winemakers 2. write up to 10 short articles that are each 250 – 400 words based on the answers received from the email survey. Each article shall be about a different winery. 3. write 25 short articles that are each 250 – 400 words about general wine topics. This gives a total of 35 short articles. These short articles will be: • posted on the blog at: www.boutiquewineries.com.au/blog/wineloversblog.cfm; and • used in future newsletters. ------------------- Project Scope ------------------- The scope of the project is as follows: PART 1: CREATE A SHORT EMAIL SURVEY Create a short email survey designed to be an interview to the wineries. The purpose of the survey is to provide you with some interesting content for the short articles about the winery and/or the winemaker in Part 2. Examples of interesting information to ask the wineries include: • history of the winemaker • history of the winery • is the owner and the winemaker the same person? • how many cases do they make each year? • what awards they have won? • testimonials they have received • other interesting facts that can come out of the survey Or if you have any other ideas for the survey, please use them. Once you have written the survey, please email the survey to me and I will send it to the wineries. I will then email the replies to you. PART 2: CREATE 10 SHORT ARTICLES ABOUT THE WINERIES/WINEMAKERS FROM PART 1 OF THIS SCOPE From the responses obtained from the survey in Part 1 of this scope, write 10 short articles (each 250 – 400 words) that will provide the reader with interesting insight into the winery and/or winemaker. Each article shall be about a different winery. PART 3: CREATE 25 SHORT ARTICLES ABOUT GENERAL WINE INFORMATION AND WINE REGIONS Write 25 short articles (each article 250 – 400 words) about general wine topics and some of Australia’s wine regions. The topic for each short article shall be as follows: 1. Storing & cellaring wine 2. Serving wine 3. The use of additives in wine 4. Balance, weight, body and length… what does this mean for wine? 5. Matching wine with food 6. Common wine-tasting terms 7. Wine shows and awards; and what they really mean 8. How to collect wines 9. How to assess your wine – sight, smell, taste 10. What is in wine? 11. Wine and your health 12. History of Australian wine 13. What makes a good wine and how to tell? 14. How does a winemaker decide what a wine will taste like? 15. What is the quality of boutique wine like? 16. What sets boutique wineries apart from the big winemakers? 17. A day in the life of a boutique winemaker; what kind of work it takes to create top quality wine 18. Margaret River wine region 19. Hunter Valley wine region 20. Granite Belt wine region 21. Clare Valley wine region 22. Barossa Valley wine region 23. McLaren Vale wine region 24. Mudgee wine region 25. Tasmanian wine region Each article about a wine region shall include content such as: description of the appeal for the region, what varieties the region is known for and examples of wineries from that region (those from our website). --------------------- General Points --------------------- Where relevant, each article shall make reference to wine varieties, wineries, wine regions, etc within www.boutiquewineries.com.au and include links to the relevant page within www.boutiquewineries.com.au. However, the focus shall be on providing relevant and interesting content for the reader, rather than trying to sell wine to the reader. The copy shall be interesting to read and shall invite and/or compel readers to engage in a conversation about the article, i.e. submit a comment about the article. The structure of the article shall include the following elements: • Heading • Sub-heading • Provide a link back to one of the pages within the Boutique Wineries website • Word Length: between 250 – 400 words. The format of the articles shall be easy to read, i.e. have short sentences and short paragraphs. The articles shall be provided in a Word document. ---------------------- Your Experience ---------------------- You shall be a copywriter with excellent English writing skills and with an ability to write copy that is interesting and compelling to read. In your submission, please provide examples of your previous work. The factual information can be found from your preferred source; however the copy shall be in your own words. Once finished, the copyright of the articles shall be owned by Boutique Wineries.
