Overlooking the Roman Opera House, Hotel Impero is within easy reach of the historical centre and not only gives one a chance to get in some serious sightseeing, but indulge in some shopping and experience Rome’s nightlife as well. Situated within walking distance of the Termini Railway Station, the Impero Hotel Rome is an ideal base for those planning to visit such attractions as the Spanish Steps which is a constant hub of activity and Via Veneto which was made famous in Fellini’s masterpiece, “La Dolce Vita”. The monolithic Coliseum that towers above the cityscape is only around a 15 to 20 minute walk from the hotel and is a constant reminder that Rome was once the centre of the Western world! Travellers who only have a limited time to spend in the city should also try and visit such attractions as the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Bernini fountain at Piazza Navona and the Vatican’s St. Peter's Basilica to name but a few. Historical monuments aside, Rome has also become a popular destination for shopping. Hotel Impero Rome is relatively close to Via Condotti which is one of the city’s most exclusive shopping streets and where visitors can buy designer clothing or do some window shopping if ones holiday budget does not allow for wanton spending! Via Cola di Rienzo has more reasonably priced shops, while the Campo de' Fiori market is also worth a visit. Discovering Rome at night is a magical experience not to be missed. Popular night time activities include sitting out at a street side cafe, having a traditional Italian meal at a trattoria and enjoying some gelato (Italian ice cream) as one visits the various city fountains. Piazza della Rotonda and Trevi Fountain are a few of the well known night time hangout spots, while those who prefer a more energetic nocturnal pastime can visit such areas as Testaccio and dance the night away at one of its many clubs. Before beginning a tour of the city, guests of the Impero Hotel Rome can have their morning meals at the onsite breakfast room, while there is also a bar on the premises where one can have a relaxed evening drink. Even though the hotel does not have dining options, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes close by. The simple guestrooms are equipped with all important air conditioning and have televisions and private bathrooms as well. While there is much to see and do in Rome, those looking to really soak up the vibrant energy of the Eternal City need only to lose themselves amidst the maze of small streets and squares which will take one on an unforgettable journey back in time!
