This should include brushing and flossing, cleaning the back of the tongue as much as twice daily, keeping the mouth hydrated all the time, rinsing the mouth with clean water, and chemical or medical treatment of any underlying allergies, sinus infections or other medical conditions that may be contributing to the bad breath. It should be noted that there are well over 400 bacteria found in the average mouth. Large quantities of these naturally active bacteria are often found on the posterior of the tongue and hidden places in the mouth. Multiplication of these different bacteria can cause trouble when they are allowed to flourish or genetically disposed to overpopulate. One of the quickest way to check the smell of one’s saliva is by licking one’s inner wrist and smelling it just immediately after that. One of the newest herbal remedy for Halitosis is the Halitonic herbal solution, which is a unique combination of biochemical tissue salt and selected medicinal herbs .This herbal solutions is found to be effective in cleasing the system of all bacteria and putrefactive conditions. Halitonic solution act as a system cleanser and detoxifier in the mouth. Apart from this solution, some herbal remedies for Halitosis have been given by experts. These include; Chewing some cardamom seeds to sweeten one’s breadth as cardamom seeds contain some aromatic flavor that freshens breadth naturally. Also baking soda dissolved in warm water can be used to wash the tongue as this reduces acidity in the mouth. This will make one’s mouth environment hazardous to bacteria growth. Apart from these two, drinking tea made from Fenugreek seeds will give good mouth odor. Unripe guava fruits has been found to be rich in tunic, malic, phosphoric and oxalic acids as well as oxalate, calcium and magnesium .Chewing the unripe guava seeds can serve as an excellent tonic to free gums and teeth from particles that can cause bad breadth. The acids present in the guava fruits prevent gum bleeding. Chewing leaves of guava leaves will also cure bad breadth and bleeding gums. However there are still investigations of self cleansing effect of eating oranges. They have been found to clean to some significant extent the teeth very early in the morning. A clean colon also has been found to be effective in removing bad breadth .Adding the juice of half a lemon fruit with water has also been found to be acidic to germs and bacteria in the mouth especially if the mixture is allowed to stay in the mouth for few minutes of between 5-10. With all these natural herbal preventive measures it is advisable to brush the teeth with a toothpaste containing herbal ingredients at least twice in a day, remembering to scrape the tongue as well as have a floss once per day.This is the best way to keep one’s breadth fresh at all times of the day.
