Description: We have 51 minutes of interviews with farmers and policy-makers in Pakistan. The interviews are in Urdu and need to be translated into English. We’re looking for a translator with extensive experience in both translation and proofreading.

The interviews are on Quicktime videos with time-codes, and each translated sentence needs to be associated with a time-code corresponding to the ‘in-time’ in the Urdu original.

Please be able to provide a resume with current references, and to do a sample translation consisting of 4-5 minutes of interview time.

The translation needs to be flawless - with clean, perfectly-punctuated and elegant sentences throughout.

Hi, I have been writing and editing for over a decade and am also a university professor. English is my first language and I have two postgraduate degrees in Language and Literature, and am also currently working on a PhD in Indian and Pakistani poetry in English. I have worked as a senior copyeditor and proofreader for reputed publishing houses such as Oxford University Press and Longman. My PhD is on Kashmiri poet Agha Shahid Ali, who has published poetry translated from Urdu and Persian. I have also done translations of poetry and short stories from both Hindi and Urdu into English, and am fluent in Urdu. I also have extensive experience working on video scripts as I have transcribed as well as created several English scripts for video presentations and podcasts.

I am Pakistani. i can understand all speaking sytles of urdu which urdu and potwari mixture, urdu and TTS pubnjabi mixture, urdu and lahori punjabi mixture. as well i am student of gce olevel (lONDON UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS). Infact i will because it will be pround as it will be my first work on transalting urdu -my first language
