Warm regards, Max Sample Corn Stoves Corn stoves are used to burn granular fuel. Infact, corn burning stoves are quite similar to pellet burning stoves. In both cases, corn and pellets are very dense fuel. Since, they are so dense, none of them burns strongly in a fuel chamber. Corn stoves have been used in the South and Southwest since 1969, right when the stove was invented by Carroll Buckner of Arden, NC. The most famous demonstration of the stove was in the Oval Office, installed during the administration of President Jimmy Carter. This strong demonstration could not make corn stoves, nationally popular. In New England, people are more likely to mistrust ideas that come from farther places; the corn stove initially looked to some people like a southerner’s gimmick to use up the waste corn. Northerners also thought that any stove used in the South will not really be up to the mark in the cold climate. This is however, far from truth. Corn Stoves have been demonstrated all over the New England in last few years in various country fairs etc. The tiny fires that corn stoves burn can give out as much as 60,000 BTUs of heat. The fuel used in the corn stove is granular and is metered in the burning chamber. Most stoves have a storage hopper to contain a supply of fuel. To burn these fuels, mostly manufacturers use a small combustion chamber. In this chamber, the corn is fed and combustion air is pumped through. The corn can either be dribbled into this combustion chamber from above, or it can be stoked into the chamber from below by means of an auger. Both ways are equally good and can be used to make efficient corn stoves.
