Description: I am looking for someone whose English is flawless. Typing speed must be very fast, with a high level of accuracy. Candidate must have an eye for detail, and be able to proofread without missing anything.
The job consists of listening to audio files while reading along with a transcript that is provided, to correct any errors in the transcript. Must have a reliable computer, with high speed internet, and must be able and willing to communicate via email and IM.
If you are able to understand many accents, especially UK, that is a plus; if you are from the UK, that is a big plus. Experience with transcription, especially Medical Transcription is a big plus.
Looking for a part time worker on a regular schedule. Full time also possible. Pay for the right candidate will be by the our of audio proofed/edited or transcribed.

Must be willing to do both transcription and proofreading, and must be able to produce fast, high quality results. Reliability is key. Thanks for your interest.

I am a native English speaker, with experience as a proof reader, and at one time for almost 2 years a columnist for a monthly newspaper. I have no problems understanding various accents. I love British television programming and my grandmother was Czechoslovakian, so I'm accustomed to understanding (often heavy) foreign accents. I have done this type of work before, transcribing speeches for posting on the internet, and using proper punctuation -- including brackets, I can make sure the printed version corresponds as closely as possible to the flow of the speakers' words. And being Canadian, with Queen Elizabeth II as our head of state, I know how to spell honour and colour. Thank you.

Delivery time can be cut short depending on the quality of the audio files and the number of files to be proofed. I've worked for a web and magazine publishing for more than four years so I have more than enough experience with regard to editing and proofreading.
