Bid On This Project

Description

I have a small newsletter that I write articles for, but I'm looking for someone that can do my editing. I find that my subscribers really like the content I write, but my grammar is terrible at times and I don't always have the time to edit my own stuff so I'm looking for someone that can help me with this.

I'm looking for a writer/editor that knows about Web marketing, but in all honesty, I'm really more interested in someone with good grammar. Someone that speaks American English would be preferred. I want these articles to remain in 'my voice' and just need someone that can take what I write and make it 'read' a little better.

These articles will be published in my newsletter and Website (www.edwinhuertas.com). Please review the articles on the Website to get an idea of what I write about, but keep in mind that some of these articles were never edited :)

I can't afford a lot so please don't post any expensive offers. I'm not looking for a company either. I want an individual that can help from home not a company that is simply in it for profits. Right now my newsletter only has 200 or so members, but I'm going to invest a few bucks into promoting it so it has to be good enough to mail (using proper grammar and punctuation, which happens to be my one down fall).

If you can add to the articles and make them even bigger that would be great, but not necessary.

As I increase this business I will be able to pay more and more, but for now, I need someone that can work with me as I grow and can afford to pay higher fees.

If this sounds interesting to you please post your charge PER WORD. If you have not read down this far you probably won't know to post your fees this way and I will totally ignore your bid :)

Consumers judge the credibility of your business by the language you use. You may have a solid business, mastery of your craft, and a valuable service to offer, but a presentation marred by grammatical errors will still turn away customers. I offer editing and rewriting services for .06/word; this bid is based on the editing of a single, 500-word article. With your salesmanship and my command of the language, I am certain you will do well.

I am a native English speaker. Much of my life was spent overseas where, in the home and at work, I was the only one with fluent first language English. I corrected letters, brochures, intstruction manuals and even business cards everyday. I feel confident that I can do this project. Perhaps if you could send me a small sample I would do it for free so that we could both be comfortable. Oh yes, I did read through your description and understand the per word requirement.

Hello there I have read your job posting with interest and would very much like to be considered for this project. I am not a writer but I have many years office experience, fast and accurate keyboard skills, and always pay great attention to detail. What may be of interest to you is that in my last job as administrator of a large internet property portal, part of my time was spent proofreading/editing the weekly newsletter and also other content prior to it going live on the website. I have had a look at your website (noted the typo on the home page "constulting fees" - is this a a test?) and feel this would be an interesting project to be involved in. I am presently involved in a proofreading/editing project for which I have just received my first feedback (see my profile). I am Scottish, living in Spain, and typically am available online from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday CET (GMT+1). I am contactable via email and Skype. My bid is for 5000 words - that is $8 per 1000 words or .008 cents a word. I hope this is of interest to you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide you with any further information. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Diane Brown

Hello Mr. Huertas! It would be a pleasure to work with you to improve the articles included in your newsletter while maintaining your voice in the writing. While I know only a little about Web marketing, I know a lot about grammar, having been teaching it and editing other people's work on a wide variety of topics (including Marketing) for over 20 years. Please see the PMB for an example of my work for this bid based on .004 per word. Thank you for your consideration. PJH

I can provide you with professional proofreading and copy editing services for 8 cents per word (or we can discuss a per hour fee--that might actually make this more affordable for what you need). I've done this type of work for previous clients and they've been very satisfied with my work. You can Google my username to learn more about my services, my portfolio, and contact info for references. I'm familiar with AWeber, Constant Contact and Mail Chimp, among other newsletter services (if yours isn't on my list, I tend to find them pretty quick and easy to learn).

$.10-.15 cents per word Please forgive my method of bidding in the total project section. At the bottom of your page you said "PER WORD", and I wasn't sure if you meant per word of the whole article, or just the words edited. I am also pretty new to this site. A standard, 300-400 page article or newsletter with few mistakes would run approximately $30. Poorly written material could go higher than $50 per article. (It is very unlikely a 300 page article would cost over $30) I can deliver or upload the proofread content within 24 hours of original acquisition. I spend a good deal of time thoroughly re-checking my work to guarantee the best punctuation, grammar and spelling available. I take pride in all my work, and look forward to building up one of the best reputations in the business. I have reviewed your website articles, as well as signed up for your free newsletter, because your articles and information are free and quite thorough, and I also wanted to get an idea of what I would be editing. Hi Edwin! I really loved reading your project and it sounds like something that would be interesting and fun to do - two things that always make work more palatable right?! I feel we could really be a good fit because I used to write for and edit a company wide newsletter (managing to keep the "voice" of 20 different contributors hile keeping it grammatically correct was no mean feat!). I am familiar with the style of newsletter article I think you write: professional but still laid back and often with a joke or two thrown in. I am judging this by your ad for the project and I also signed up for the free newsletter to see how you write. The introduction email is great and just the style I love working in - it has a real conversational tone to it. I wanted to bid one US cent per word, which would be $1.00 USD per 100 words - but this site said $30 was the minimum. So my bid is actually 1 US cent per word - but if this is too high PLEASE tell me, as I am not in it for the money. Like you, I am just starting out and getting some (enjoyable) experience on my portfolio and CV is more important to me right now. I am actually also really interested in what your emails will have to say, as I will be hoping to launch and market myself as a freelance proofreader and copy editor via the internet over the coming years. I currently work for a publishing house and like I already pointed out, have done a number of editing, proofreading and re-writing jobs before. I would be more than happy to provide you with a copy of my CV or more information I hope to hear from you soon Kind Regards Hannah Collins

I'm a marketing professional with close to 20 years experience writing, proofreading and editing copy. I also understand your need to keep the content in your voice. I'm Australian however Microsoft Word caters for American English so I don't foresee any issues with proofing and editing your newsletters in American English. On a per word basis I would charge $0.05. I would suggest that you send me a newsletter as a trial job so you that you can judge the quality of my work.

I have just graduated in communication studies and editing and proof-reading have been my core subjects of interest. I have been writing articles in local English newspaper in Pakistan. I have worked for the newsletter of a trust school. There I used to proof-read and edit the newsletter. I am bidding for this project because I believe I have an experience of working as a proof-reader. More over I have a strong grip over English language though I am not a native English speaker but my grammar and writing skills are very well-built.

I am an experienced proofreader with both a bachelors degree and a masters degree. I am fully versed in MLA, APA and New York Times formatting and can proofread to any of these. Most recently, I have edited articles for law journals. I work thoroughly and thoughtfully while I am also aware of how much time I spend on any particular piece. I can do this project for $0.01 per word. I look forward to hearing back from you.

I am a retired medical transcriptionist with excellent spelling, grammar, numerical skills. New to this outsource. Need extra income longterm. I would like a chance to help you and INCOME IS NEGOTIABLE. Not knowing the length or TAT for your total project hinders a good bid. I am looking at perhaps $5.00 edited, corrected, minor rewrite per page. AGAIN, NEGOTIABLE.

.01 PER WORD in order to be of help to you in getting a good start. I have experience with writing, proofreading and editing. I have been doing this for many years for payment, as well as a favor or two, here and there. I am a retired college instructor who believes in perfection, ie., my own. I'm empathetic and am able to readily "put myself in another's shoes", including writing in their voice.(I wrote a book after I healed an injured mallard duck, entitled "Through the Eyes of Gabriel." It's his story, as seen through his eyes, his life.) I know I can be of service to you in your business. The $30 bid was a necessary requirement. $.01/word converts into $5.00/500 word article for revision and possibly expanding some of the articles. I will send samples of my writing upon request. Good luck in finding someone to help you, as well as over-all in your business venture. I like the way you presented yourself on your web page.

new bid

(No Feedback Yet)

Hello! I can help you! Yes, I read the entire project description. My bid is for 1 penny, $.01, per word. I have a degree in Communications with honors in English, and currently work as the editor and proofreader for a travel magazine, The Aztec Sunrise. I agree that you should stick to what you are best at, which is contect, and leave the rest to those of us who have great grammar and actually enjoy that part of writing! It makes me happy to see someone recognize the importance of the presentation of content. I see so many internet pages or newsletters that look like they were written by a five year old, and no matter how great the content is, I never believe that the person takes their business seriously. So you are already heads above the rest for taking this step! I look forward to working with you. Please contact me. I can start proofreading for you immediately. Thanks! Cathy
