While I am here, I would like to formulate a few quick notes of observation on the bidding that is presented here. I venture to bet a “Grasshopper to a dormouse” that many of you either did not take the time to read nnj22’s requirements, or perhaps you felt you could grab the position with complete disregard for his “First spoken Language” requirement. Either way I should like to point out several errors which I perceive here.
Many of you need to unquestionably improve upon your spelling as well as to stop endeavoring to use words which do not properly fit the sentence. A thesaurus is only as skillful at words as the person who is using it. If you do not know the meaning or contents of a word don’t use it.
I mention this because I too was in the position where I found it necessary to hire additional writers. I spent many hours rewriting articles which had been poorly written from people who fooled themselves into imagining they had an understanding of the English language and deemed themselves proficient at writing. The worse part of it all was that I paid these people and in the end had to do the work myself. I see people bidding on here that state that English is their natural language and I know from experience that they can not write worth a hill of beans. How to I know? They wrote for me and I ended up rewriting their assignments.
In addition I see that many people have placed bids that are unreasonable and some are just downright ridiculous. Eight dollars for 500 words is nothing short of a farce. The one that really tops the cake is the $20.00 each per article by sleeping dog. Really now. You may have been a judge but your understanding of the writing field is way off. We are talking about GAF here people. The usual going rate on bids is $3.50 for 300 to 500 words – Don’t expect more because you are only fooling yourself. If you need more I will send you the address for readers digest.
I just wanted to make a few points openly that may potentially help a few people. Take your time and write clearly and write what you mean. Read the bid proposal carefully. Don’t waste the person’s time if he says "natural English", then Philippine, India and other countries are not natural English unless you were raised in America or Great Britain.
