| I am not sure I can do all of this for $1000. I am very good at 3D visualization programming, I have done it off and on since 1983. The main thing I am hesitant about is the user-interface code to select sub-segments of time-series data from a 3D chart by dragging a mouse, and the saving settings. And also the interfacing with Matlab/Octave. That's a lot of busy work in general UI and housekeeping design for a 3D/chart specialist.
I'd rather just come up with a function that accepts a predefined data object/class/structure, and then returns an rgb bitmap based on input style parameters, and scroll-position/scale parameters. And another one that associates given X,Y coordinates in the bitmap with sub-segments of data in the data object. That way, you can program the mouse-capture code yourself, and send the relative coordinates inside the RGB bitmap to the translation function. Which I guess sets the selected data and endpoints in the data object. Then you can take that data object or the data selected, and send it to Matlab/Octave yourself.
If me just doing the core of the functionality is acceptable to you, then give me some more detailed chart-style specs. And I will see if I can deliver them for $1000, and then propose a structure and functions for the data object.
