The main part of the project is detecting a big thick black circle in a photo, of uniform radius that is facing the camera. Please see this link for a example photo [login to view URL] We already have a front end and back end to our software but our programmer had problems detecting the circle. You can see a shot here of our app, of exactly what we want (the inner green circle doesn’t need detecting, its always in relation to the outside red circle) [login to view URL] Full commented source code will be provided if your bid is accepted the code has been written in C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. The UI is written using Delphi 7 and components: PNG Components 1.0 RC3 [login to view URL] (I am not sure if you will need to know this component, I think it deals just with png files) To summarise the work needed 1. Write algorithm to detect a circle. 2. Tie the algorithm to our already made UI 3. Do 1 hours work moving a few buttons around on the UI. We may consider splitting the job into two parts if you only know c++ and can write the algorithm for us, we will get someone else to add it to our app using delphi, but we would prefer someone who can do both. When doing the circle detection we think it may best to write something from scratch as we have already tried using "Sobel edge detection" but our last programmer couldnt get good results from it. I suggest just starting by searching in from the right hand side of the picture and looking for a thick black line half way down the picture, and going from there.
