The project is to make a livery manager. This is a program which our customers can use to install liveries (texturesets) to our product. In other words, as example, if they have installed our A330-300 product they need to be able to insert a KLM or US Airways livery. The manager is an exe program and will follow the instructions like given in this proposal.

A quick tour through the program:
Let me first note. Look at the zipfile attached (or linked). It explains a lot. Also, the mainpart of the program takes as base point that the customer puts a folder (with a livery) in the downloads folder of the program. The program looks for that folder. However the database button (see below more info) is meant as automatically search for the liveries so they don’t have to put it manually in the downloads folder.

In the top left there is our logo. In the top right there is the name “livery manager” plus an “?” button which opens a help page. (just a page with text, perhaps best and easiest to link it to a html page). Also in the top right there is a “X” button to exit the program.

In the middle left there is a dropdown menu for “select livery”. Here it shows the liveries found by the program. This is looking in the “downloads folder” and search for folders. See example. At the bottom of this select livery menu there is an option to select all. This option will install all liveries one by one automatically. (repeat the installation process for X times).

Below the select livery menu there is information, two lines with information found in a text file included with each livery. Read the txt file (notepad file) and search for the two lines. ([fltsimXX]  Title=… and ui_variation=…)

Below is a selection for either FS9 or FSX. (flight simulator 9 or flight simulator X). Standard its FS9. The program checks the registry for the path of the simulator. With starting the program it finds FS9 path. If people select FSX it finds that one. And shows it in the box below so people can change it (in case it goes wrong). If FS9 isnt found automatically try FSX.

Bottom left corner is the version of the program. Middle right shows a jpg image which can be found in the texture folder of the livery (standard name = thumbnail.jpg).
Above the image there is a button for “database with liveries”. When the person clicks on it it should show a list of available products (from a database online, or txt online or whatever works). When the person clicks on a product, like the A330 it should show a list of possible liveries for it (again from database or txt file (online!) or so). Person clicks on a livery, like the KLM one, the program goes to internet, downloads the file from our server (location set in a database or so?) and Install its automatically. This file is zipped, or packed with winrar. So the program needs to either unzip, or use another way of compressing it. We are open to discuss alternative options if you have.

Bottom right is the install button. When people press the install button then the program:

1. Open the livery folder. Read the txt file (installerinfo.txt) and check which product. This is determined by reading two lines. If the program knows which product, it can link that product to the needed folder in FS. The linking needs to be from a database or txt file or so, so we can add new products in a later stage without changing the exe itself.
2. Go to the path selected. In FS9, go to the aircraft subfolder. In FSX go to simobjects/airplanes/ subfolder.
3. Open the corresponding product folder. Like if the product is the A330-300 then open the CLS_A330_300 folder.
4. Open the aircraft.cfg
5. Search for the last [fltsimXX] entry where XX stands for a number.
6. Add the new entry (from the txtfile) below the last entry.
7. Change the XX to a number, which should be “last + 1”. If the last entry is [fltsim4] then the new one is [fltsim5].
8. Save the .cfg
9. Copy over the texture.XX folder from the livery folder to the product folder. For FS9, its done and it should give a message that installation was successful.
10. For FSX, the program needs to check wether the texture.XX folder contains .bmp or .dds textures. If .dds, we are done and give message that installation was successful. If .bmp then copy over the textures from the texbase folder (located in the productfolder) to the texture.XX folder as well. Don’t overwrite!!
11. Done, give message that installation was successful.

Removing option.
- removing liveries. Show list products (from txt file)
- select product, then go to the FS. Go to the correct product folder (based on product once again) and list all installed (read the aircraft.cfg and list the ui variations from all entries). Let customer select one of them. And remove that entry from the aircraft.cfg. Re-number the entries correctly (if there are 5, you remove the third, you need to re-number the fourth and fifth to 3 and 4).
- Also remove the corresponding texture.XX folder (XX is being read at the texture=.. line in the aircraft.cfg

Hi, I am a Delphi certified expert, based in the UK and also a Flightsim X user. I will be able to let you have an inital prototype within 36hours, and then beta1 at 3 days, and beta2/RC1 at 6 days, and then RC2 by day 8, and when you are happy will compile it as release I could start coding this almost immediately, however, I would require payment through the GAF payment system, its one of the Terms of the site.
