Description

I am in need of a standalone program that will open up a 1000x1000 pixel image at 300dpi and apply it to over 150 templates used for wrapping candy.

I currently have an action for Adobe Photoshop that I wrote but I need to make this a standalone application.

It needs to be "smart" and open all the templates in a directory and add the background to them if possible, otherwise it needs to open a set of templates and process them, then save them to a directory specified by the user.

By your description, I take it you have a number of template images 'T' and a number of other images 'X', and for some combination thereof you want images which get their pixels from 'X' inside the lines and 'T' outside the lines, or vice-versa. I recently built similar functionality into software I am creating to automate a web site layout, and so can easily adapt this to your application, subject to some restrictions: 1. The input and output images would all have to be in one of the following formats: TIFF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, GIF, PNG, PCX, BMP, Targa, JBIG, WBMP, JPC, PNM, or Sun RAS. Note that PhotoShop files can be saved to TIFF with no loss of layers, paths, etc. 2. The area to include/exclude from 'T' would have to be specified in one of two ways. The first, which is preferable, would be an alpha channel. (This would restrict the formats of the source 'T' image - TIFF would be best.) A batch job could most likely be made in PhotoShop to automatically format all the templates as required. Alternatively, if the area to exclude from the template is comprised of a single colour, the program could either "punch out" any area matching that colour, or only a single area starting from a defined point such as the center of the image. The former would be simpler. My bid is for a command-line or otherwise UI-less tool for Windows that would execute the operation on some defined set such as a directory, an ASCII list file, or command-line arguments, within the above constraints. If you need a Windows user interface, other file formats, direct utilization of a vector path, or some other operation, these can be arranged at additional cost. The indicated time is approximate, but depending on the exact details, this could be done in as little as a day or two. Ideally, I'd like to have sample input and output files. Best regards, Kevin
