I have an RFID reader (see attached pdf) that plugs into my USB port. I need a method for triggering an event in my web browser when an RFID keytag is swiped from the reader... the solution is preferably a browser plug-in or active-x control that listens for events from the USB RFID reader device... if those are not possible, it could be a windows service that runs in the background - but that is an absolute last resort option.
When an RFID key tag is swiped, it would pass the serial number from the key tag into a javascript function... or if that is not possible, it would redirect the browser to a page and pass the serial number in the query string. Preferably it would only listen for these events when the browser window is in focus.
This only needs to work on computers running Windows XP and higher - with IE 6 and higher... if necessary, I can limit the specs further to IE 7 and higher.
Attached is a demo application with all source code provided by the manufacturer. It was written in Delphi.
I would like to have this project completed by June 5th. Payment will be made upon completion and delivery of all source files.
