Description

I am looking to make an RPG maker, one that I can customize myself once the console is created. I assume most have heard of DnD, Star wars RPG's etc. RPG's typically have a list of classes the player may pick, and a list of races that are playable. They all have their own feats and skills, and creating a new character can be tedious for most. I want to be able to make my own RPg that will have random generators of all sorts, as well as being able to save the current creation to be able to whip up character templates quick. There are a few examples such as RolePlaying assistant, rpg maker etc. that are close to what I am looking to achieve, and I would pay more for good effort and skill put into this project. I have attached an excel template to give an idea of what I want to make a reality. I also would like to be able to just create a database really of all of this information, in the same fashion as the excel sheet but only visual, and more customizable. PLEASE help me out I'm dying here.

I should note that this is potentially a two part project. the idea is to create a generator for pen and paper roleplaying games, so that character creation is fun and can be done quickly. NOW: if we could take that further, and perhaps have a map generator, graphics to emulate this rpg and the ability to customize the game would be awesome. Roleplaying assistant is part one, I want it in the same manner, only better and with visual effects, and RPG maker for the ability to play it. any questions or specifics needed/wanted keep it coming, I am anxious to see this succeed.

It sounds to me you want an application that has a bunch of combo boxes and fields so the user can pick and input whichever stat and class they want for a character. Then you want to be able to save and load this setting. I should be able to do this.

I have previously worked on a multi-system RPG character sheet software (as my final project at university), although this isn't complete due to illness. If you wish, I could use my existing software as a base to develop this application. I would simply need the data-set for your game system's statistics/skills/feats etc, writing the code to determine whether a certain character is 'legal' within the rules would be the greatest part of this project. Although my current code is in Perl, I could port it to run in Java without much difficulty. My system works as a user-driven character designer. It can also generate random characters, or can generate semi-random sets to flesh out a saved template. Using a Bayesian algorithm (which I spent most of the project time fine-tuning), its random generation becomes more realistic as the collection of characters and templates in the database grows.
