Haiku OS is an operating system based on the BeOS. For more info see: [login to view URL] It is currently trying to release an alpha however a number of bugs are blocking its progress. Bidders will familiarize themselves with Haiku's Trac management system, and likely develop under a Virtual Machine with pre-built disk images. See pre-alpha-images: [login to view URL] The budget is $250, and we're expecting 3-5 tickets of the BLOCKER, CRITICAL or HIGH PRIORITY issues listed here to be solved. [login to view URL] These bugs require programmers/engineers that are able to adapt easily to a foreign OS and are able to analyze code, work with the kernel debugger, and deal with missing APIs. These are not easy to fix, but there is lots of support from devs on the mailing lists and #Haiku on IRC (freenode). It would be great if more could be fixed, this is an open source operating system... :) Note, one freelancer already failed to produce results.
