Bid On This Project

Description

We have a functioning Microchip PIC microcontroller circuit board complete with prototype firmware written in assembler that controls a water boiler. Essentially it has two outputs (open water inlet valve and switch heating element on) and three inputs (is the tank full, two temperatures). We would like the software re-writing in C, in a very simple easy-to-follow way that would let us make small amendments to parameters/logic to optimise physical performance. We have all the hardware diagrams, the software spec and the current firmware source files. There is no need for high speed execution (it can monitor inputs as slow as once a second say) but accurate timing would be very useful.

We would like the software to be developed in some sort of debugger environment (like MPLAB) that we could mirror in our workshop so that would let us track the operation of the board - what the state of inputs, outputs etc are. We do not want a "blackbox" we can't understand or amend.

After this we might be interested in some hardware/software changes to add a LCD display and use some memory but for now its just the re-write to replicate existing functionality in a new environment that we want. We have a sample board we can ship for testing.

we are in the business of developing microcontroller based system since 1986. Though our workhorse processors are ARM and 8051 derivatives we have used PICs for there multiple integrated peripheral at a cost effective way. We in fact write 90% of our pro grammes in 'c' except for very time critical function.

I have dealt with this processor in several projects both in its assembly and C/C++ environments. Currently i am doing image processing code using C++ that generates program commands for PIC/Microcontroller(16 and 24 series). I love this field,So give me the job.

Hi, I and my team professionally take up such projects. We have strong background in SW and HW side together with integration. We have gone through the complete requirements and worked on the flow diagram based on the firmware assembly code provided by you. We already have PIC Microcontroller evaluation board with us and we have worked on PIC 16F883 microcontroller, if possible we can avoid shipping the board from your end. Following will be our deliverables:- 1. Complete Logic Flow Chart/diagram based on the current code. 2. Software Requirement Specifications Document. 3. Well commented C source code – Easy to understand the logic a. We can share the coding guideline for you for future up-gradation and uniformity of the source code. b. Each function will have detailed header comment. c. Code will be structured and we will not using complex C programming for easy appreciation. d. Version will be maintained and intermittent delivery will be in debug mode so that you can replicate and we will have the same environment at both ends. 4. Will provide the timing measure using CRO – It can be verified at your end for accuracy of timings. 5. The code written in C can be debugged/Programmed by using MPLAB 6. We will also provide you the test cases for acceptance and can be reused by you in future for feature augmentation/regression test. 7. We will be providing you the document for amending the code. Apart from above we can provide you design document and test plan if asked for but will be charged separately. Mode of working:- 1. Flow chart will be delivered within a day of approval of project. 2. Dedicated single point contact for any technical issue. 3. Intermittent Deliveries on pre-agreed date/days. Assumption:- 1. Project Time line starts from the written approval for go ahead of project. 2. Shipment/custom duty charge for the evaluation board will not be born by us. It will be charge on actual apart from the project cost. Project Time Line:- Total duration of the project:- 3 Weeks. Pls contact for any further clarifications if needed.
