Hi, I can develop this application in a simple way.we can use RS-232C interface of the epson printer tou named for simplisity as it has RS-232C port as well. And my solution will have real time clock (run even in power falures) to keep the time and lcd (16x2) lcd display to show time no etc and help to see the time as well. and few buttons to set date and one for customer as mentioned. AAt above rate i can provide schematic firmware to you and extensive help to build it and run. If you want me to do the whole and give you the finished product extra charge will be apply.

The bid is for printer with serial module (with USB module will increase somehow the MCU sw price), including Schematic, Gerber, 1 proto PCB, merchant/customer LCD, setting buttons, MCU software. Not included Printer, housing. Shipping need to be discussed. More pcs. price with big discount.

This will need USB to LPT port converter interface as most printer will need LPT port to interface with PC although it is USB connector. We will work at LPT level programming, so need to find out the driver. And language we will use is PLC (Printer Language Control) which is managed from micro-controller. Let me know if my method is better for you.

I can do this task: I prefer to use Atmel MCU (Atmega16 for example), 2x16 matrix LCD. Connection to the printer will be via RS232 (for a long distance RS485).

I can do it using Atmel MCU with RS-232 port (RS-485 possible too), and LCD to display the time and number. Also device will contain real time clock, so you will not have to set the time every day. For extra money I will send you fully assembled ready-to-sell device.

I am an experienced programmer (more than 10 years) and an electronic engineer. I have lots of experience with PIC microcontrollers (both C and PIC Assembly programming). I will use a serial device and my bid does not include any protypes. It includes schematics and programming files with source code.
