Graphics for a web page - net of Internet connections

Hello,

I need graphics for top of my web page. The picture should show a net of connections placed on a sphere. We can assume that the net of connections depicts the Internet. The picture should be similar to following picture: http://tarest.republika.pl/temp/example.jpg, but it should not be symmetrical as the later and should be uniform, not glued from two parts.

Rules:
* the connections should be laid on a sphere. It means that:
- connections that are closer to us should be magnified comparing to those that are far away
- person watching picture should have impression that he see a sphere
* depicting Internet connections means that:
- most nodes are connected to more than one node (often to many nodes) - i.e. the graph is dense
- but there are also connections with leaf nodes (i.e. some nodes are connected to only one node/computer - you can see a few such "bunches" on example graphics)
- lines depicting connections that have larger bandwidth are wider and darker
- apart from these rules you are free about the layout of the net (but it should not be copied from the example picture)
* I like a blur of the connections (wider lines have wider blur strips)
* size of the image should be similar to size of attached example image, colours should be the same as on example image (blue and white)

* if someone has other vision of image I can consider it
* it will be good if I will have access to source image (not only to jpg or png image)

I don't know whether it will be easier to make a picture in 2D or 3D techniques.
