Fix two errors on Movable Type/.php site

Detailed project description:

I administer a Movable Type-based website. The site has recently been moved to a different web hosting company. Since the move two features of the site are no longer working:

1. An online subscription sign-up form gives an error: “Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /nfs/c01/h04/mnt/44493/domains/boxoffice.com/html/subscribe/dbconn.php on line 5
could not connectCan't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)”

2. A search function no longer works and gives this login error: “Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Specifications/Requirements:

• I would like these two problems to be resolved
• I would like both of these pages to be integrated as static pages into the Movable Type CMS
