Description

Our existing PHP/MySQL web site needs a message forum for users to comment on announcements from the company, to make requests for changes to our software, and to get and give support to each other. The system needs to include the ability to post top-level entries and comments (or replies) to those top-level entries.

We have an existing user account system that must be integrated. The message forum is low traffic, and does not need many of the "pretty" features of a full fledged forum system, like phpBB, however, it would be nice to automatically format URLs an email addresses to make them clickable. The system should also have the ability to restrict users to either only viewing posts/comments, posting comments only, or posting new top-level entries and/or comments, based on forum and user settings.

Your code must be clean, well commented, and easily maintained by others. We have many additional future projects for our web page, so the right person can have a great future relationship. We also will be looking for cross-platform C++ programmers for upcoming work as well.
