Description

I need to record about 45 minutes of a new audio book project. I need someone to manage this effort for me. In addition to the help described below, I need someone to put some very basic music at the beginning and end of each audio file.

I have Cool Edit Pro on my computer and know how to record the basic files. I can cut and paste my mistakes so you won't have much time in this. However, when I use my normal mic, the sound level is very low. When I use the mic booster (20%), the voice volume jumps, but then you can hear a lot of 'noise' in the background. I'm attaching two sample files for you to hear what I'm talking about. I've spent hours in Vista trying to find a way to fix this, but all my settings are already maxed out.

I don't want to invest in a expensive studio for this small project. I'd like to be able to set Cool Edit to the settings you describe, read this, send you the files, and have you send them back to me 'fixed'. There are 16 chapters, so it will be 16 files.

Finally, I need your expertise so we can put these in the right format, bit rate, etc., for my clients so they can easily listen to these on their computer or iPod and have a good listening experience.

This is no problem as I have the ability to produce a high quality product from either of the samples you provided. I can increase the volume on the low sample or clean the louder sample and adjust the voice quality of both. I can also create royalty free music samples for intro (lead in) and lead out.
