A person speaking slowly would go at 200 to 250 words per minute on an average. Transcribing at 40 words per minute would require four to five hours for one hour of audio. Thus for six hours of audio I would need 30 odd hours giving you 99.5 percent accuracy. And the bid for 30 hours $150.

| I am a qualified proofreader (I already have one Proofreading diploma and am working towards a second.) and I really enjoy transcription as my meticulous approach to all my work means I like to reproduce exact written versions of the spoken audio.
My price of $120 was calculated as follows: I have estimated that it will take around 4 hours to complete the transcription, checking and then proofreading of 1 audio hour and, sticking to your $5 per hour rate, my bid for the 6 hours of audio is 5 X 4 = 20 and 20 X 6 = 120.
I am a native English-speaking UK citizen and, naturally for a proofreader/editor/re-writer, my English writing skills are of the highest standard. I have been trained to concentrate on accuracy so you can be guaranteed perfection in spelling, punctuation etc. and, although quality is always my highest priority, I am forever aware of time restrictions and am committed to meeting deadlines.
I have experience of several kinds of proofreading, editing, writing etc. work and have completed jobs on varying subjects, including work on medical, academic, legal and commercial texts as well as web content. Furthermore, many of my previous projects have been translating/adapting US English into UK English and I am very well aware of the difference between the two. I, therefore, am able to work with either language.
I am an extremely conscientious worker and can assure you maximum effort will go into providing you with flawless, precise transcriptions.

| This estimate is based on an hourly rate of US$5, assuming 6 hours of work per hour of audio. Depending on the clarity and complexity of the recording, it may be possible to work more quickly, and therefore I would expect adjust my fee accordingly.
Although I am British, and my writing qualifications are from Lancaster University, England, I have experience transcribing and writing articles in both British and American English, and can ensure a consistent use of whichever language variant you choose.
