I have been transcribing for more than 3 years. I have experience transcribing both one-on-one interviews, oral histories, and teleconferences, corporate earnings conference calls, as well as pre-production cuts for television, with BITC.
Some of my clients include a professor compiling an oral history, as well as writing a book; an author under commission to National Geographic for a medical research work; authors of research and historical works for periodicals and non-fiction works; a television production company; IBM; Blue Cross and various financial institutions. I have included some of their feedback below.
I am also competent with accented speakers, and am English-Spanish bilingual, myself. I will include a sample based on the provided audio as well as feedbackreceived from my clients on the PMB.

I use StartStop transcription software and am proficient in using MS Word ('03). I take pride in my speed, accuracy and attention to detail. I am providing transcription services. I am into transcription for the last four to five years. This basically includes transcription of Court proceedings, attendance notes, letters, Bill of Costs, Witness Statement, Skeleton Argument, Brief to Council, Deposition Summary, interviews, pre-hearing conferences, telephonic conversations, etc. pertaining to child care, community care, crime, employment, family, housing, immigration, property, conveyancing, welfare benefits, litigation and mental health matters. I am also providing services in business transcription and general transcription fields.
It approximately takes 3-4 hours to transcribe one hour's audio, and the rates that we charge are $10 per audio hour. We use latest version of express scribe which gives the best audio quality.

| Hello Kevin. I am a UK based native English speaker with over one year of transcription experience. I have transcribed from both audio tape and direct dictation. I am also currently studying to be a freelance proofreader and so am familiar with the points in your style guide and will have not trouble adhering to them. As a full-time office worker, my bid is based on three hours per audio hour, and working approximately 24 hours per 7-day week after work, and on weekends.

I can take up your assignment on audio transcription and deliver the output in a definite time frame. I have the capability to hand both British English and American English. I have a high typing speed of 60 WPM with very little error. Of course every completed project will be proof read and verified. I use Sony Sound Forge to listen to the audio, which gives me an additional advantage of varying the pitch and some other parameters to attain better clarity in audio. To prove my English skills, I have an 8.0 in IELTS, which I believe is self explanatory. Looking forward to hear from you.

I’m doing my Honours in English. So understanding the English audio won’t be a problem. Nor will there be any mistakes in the typing. Since I have some prior experience (though I’m not a professional) I can assure you that you won’t have any complain about my work. I can start straight away. I can transcribe the mp3 file as a trial.
Answers to your questions accordingly:
1. It usually takes around 5 hours for me to transcribe 1 hour of audio accurately. But if the quality of all the audio files is as same as the sample file it will take me less time than this.
2. I can return 1 hour of audio transcription in 3 days. Though it shouldn’t take me more than 2 days, I want to keep an extra day to be on the safe side.
3. I have transcribed about 9 interviews consisting of about 12-14 hours of audio (dual-speaker audio) for my professor. I have attached a sample of my work in the message board. My typing speed is about 30 WPM.
4. My bid for transcribing 1 hour of audio (single-speaker audio) is $9.
5. I’ll use Winamp (which I have used for my previous work) to play the audio files. I’ll use Microsoft Word (Microsoft Office 2003) to type.

| I would be happy to accept the proposed project for your proposed $10 per audio hour, especially if all of the recordings are the quality of the posted sample. I have worked in the legal field for many years and have transcriped thousands of hours of depositions, Court testimony, etc. Without question I can turn around one hour per day, would be able to provide up to four if required. My preference relative to playback is a standard Windows Media Player, although for "difficult" speakers I do have Scribe Express. Thank you for your consideration.
