Description

We need a ASP programmer for a record filtering application in MS Access. The application enables the customers to filter information from a big group of items until a small group of items is left over that meets the filter criteria. The website uses ASP classic with VBScript and uses a MS Access database. The used shoppingcart is www.charon.co.uk version 3 for ASP classic. Keeping our current database structure is preferred, but we are open for suggestions to make it work.

The admin backend has already been implemented.

What is required:
1. Finding a record
a) Records are categorized. The list of categories are stored in the database. Each record can be in one or more categories.
b) The administrator can assign a custom filter to each record. These filters are shown as dropdown menus in a Ajax update panel on the website. The list of records is refreshed automatically (only in Ajax update panel) after a selection from a dropdown.
The dropdowns should remain visible, even if no records match the selected filter criteria.

2. Record details
a) A list of products can be assigned to the record. These products are shown in a table.
The products also have custom filters like the ones described in 1b. Each filter is shown as a column in the table. The table is updated based on the selected filters.
There can also be filters which are not shown in the table.
b) A list of related products can be assigned to a record, each product can belong to a productgroup. Only one product from a group is shown. The customer must be able the select another product from the group (from a dropdown) without leaving the page.
c) Products from 2a and 2b can be put in the charon cart.

Please do not bid if you have no experience with database select statements, ASP classic, CSS or AJAX.
