Bid On This Project

Description

We have a completed website ready to be launched via press releases and a lot of other article promotion etc.

Some of the features and they are hopefully just minor ones, are not working in Firefox and IE8 as they do in IE7. The site has been developed in ASP 2.0 and works without bugs in IE7. It has been through rigorous testing.

The main problem appears to be the login button does not load the login page in Firefox but it loads in IE

This job is quite urgent so if you have experience in fixing these isses quickly then we would welcome a bid from you. You will need to be an expert in ASP. We have already posted this project and the person who originally accepted it has expertise in PHP but has now declined saying that we require ASP knowledge of cross-browsers not PHP

I am an experienced web developer, having been developing web applications since 2001. I have been developing ASP.Net applications in the UK using C# for the last five years, and have participated (and lead) a number of high profile projects for the company I currently work for (BAA) and my last company (Pool.Net). In my current role, I am the software development team leader for the BAA Heathrow Terminal 5 project. I am responsible for all bespoke software developed for the use within the T5 construction project, including asset management, change management and financial management. This role has been very challenging and involved a lot of system integration to get data in and out of both T5 project systems and BAA corporate applications. In my last role at Pool.Net, I was involved in the Retail Financial Services Site for Alliance & Leicester (a UK bank with a large online presence), which is a full n-tier asp.net replacement for an ASP/COM website. I was involved from the beginning and had many opportunities to manage different parts of the coding, introducing standard coding methodology. I also went through the full development lifecycle, from obtaining business requirements, through UML diagrams and walkthroughs, to coding, testing and deployment. I am in the process of finishing my own application, www.onlinestandards.co.uk, which is an application for architects around the world to be able to calculate complex calculations to satisfy british standards guidelines. This site has been developed in C# asp.net 2.0, with a SQL Server 2005 back-end, and includes extensive user and file security modules to stop anonymous users from accessing "secure" pages or files (e.g. subscription pages, Flash or PDF files). I believe the issue probably lies with a stylesheet setting in your HTML code, or a separate CSS (cascading stylesheet) file. In a lot of cases, Mozilla browsers do display data slightly different to Internet Explorer. If you let me have details of the whereabouts of the problem, I am sure I can come up with an easy solution. It will probably be a case of either adding Mozilla specific information to the button, or just displaying it in a different way. I have had to do exactly the same thing on my own website, so do not think it will be difficult to find a solution to your proble. I can take a look straightaway if you want me to, and should be able to come up with an answer immediately. Regards David Howlett
