Description

I need an existing VB.net windows forms app made to ASP so I can serve it on the web.

I read something about changing the app to a "user control" as explained in the web site below but I don't see the same code to edit in my case. I'm using VS2008 Express so it might be that my system doesn't have the tools to do it.

Actually, I don't know for sure if it is possible. The app does read and save some simple text files but that could be removed if it couldn't be done in ASP, the user would just have to enter all the data in every time they use it. Not to good but I could live with it.

I attached an image of what the app looks like.

If you bid, let me know if you think it will be a User control or you will write an HTML ASP site and use the code for the app.

Some bidders have asked if this is for internet or intranet? This is for internet, so anyone can use it without installing anything on their computer.

Hello I believe I have the easiest solution to your problem but that will depend on whether you are using the application in Intranet or on the Internet. One of the things we can do is we can convert the application to smart application which means that the application will behave like web application but maintaining its current form. Lets discuss teh solution. Regards

The form would be embeded as a control on the form (in ASP.NET or native HTML - it does not matter). Anyway the control will require registration on the machine where it is supposed to run so it potentially may require administrative activity - but it is just specific to the way you want it to run (as described on the page provided). The price and delivery time have been estimated for the case when your windows forms application does not require additional effort and it is enough to just instantiate your form. In case wneh your application performs some extra initializations of components (non visual) then we'd have to discuss it.

Hi , I am a Microsoft Certified Application Developer(MCAD) and Brainbench certified having around 4 years of experience in Design & Development of Windows based and Web based projects using Microsoft Technologies C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, VB 6.0 and SQL Server,Crystal reports. I can convert windows application to web. If we use it as a user control or smart client we can convert to web but it may throw errors while using.so I prefer doing it in Asp.net as a fresh application.so that there won't be issues at later point. Please contact me for further discussion. Thanks.
