Description

We are looking for an individual or firm that can develop a custom web based application utilizing Open Source Technology (MySQL, PHP, etc.) for a Media Booking and Reservation System that will integrate with a WordPress Site.

We may consider your firm for the web site design; but, if you include this with your bid we want the pricing to be broken out separately. Our hosting account is in place with Host Gator, with Linux and MySQL installed. We will develop our own content and menu structure and UI.

We want to leverage in place technology when/where feasible to minimize costs and you or your firm will be required to sign and NDA as part of the contract. This is proprietary technology that you will be developing on our behalf and we want to retain control (solely) of the Source Code.

The “heart” of this system is a rules based Calendar Module that is used by our paying Clients and Broadcast Media Firms to request an interview with our clients who have uploaded a profile. The “rules” determine the functionality that can be used and accessed by three other separate modules; i.e. Administrator, Client and Media. The Modules all have specific functionality, with the Administrative Module acting as a “super administrator.”

Your firm should be very knowledgeable about building a scheduling or calendar application that scales to high volumes of users, as each of our clients will have a standalone calendar that is “private” to he or she but “public” to our broadcast Media Firms who are researching profiles of individuals.

The application needs to have a robust search application for our Media firms, enabling them to “look” through our database of clients for a possible interview on a broadcast show. Again, we don’t want to reinvent technology and are aware of the robust calendaring capabilities built into WordPress; if this application can be utilized and/or an alternative Open Source application, this would be advisable.

We are looking for a firm or individual who can contribute to the project in a meaningful way; meaning, we want someone who can help us build the best application, with the lowest cost in the shortest amount of time. Finally, we have a detailed product specification that is six pages long that will be provided at some point during our selection process. Core functionality includes:


1.Standalone Calendar Application that integrates with server side Open Source Technology (as below)
2.Must Integrate with Open Source Server and Web Site residing on WordPress Platform
3.Must Integrate Ecommerce Component for Client Payment with Open Source Shopping Cart Provided by Host Gator
4.System Should work in “real time” and Update Instantly
5.System Should have some Customization Capability not requiring Significant Development Costs
6.User Interface Should be based on Browser Access
7.Platform to be Completed and Uploaded to our Server and Beta Tested with sufficient information to thoroughly test all Modules
8.Should integrate email and/or SMS/Text Messaging when/where feasible
9.Automated “push” out to Social Media Sites if feasible of Client Profile information
10.Should incorporate WP Widget Technology where feasible to save development costs
11.All login functionality must utilize Cookie Technology
