You’ve my heartfelt sympathy for your lost. Assuming you know that a will was made out, you will need to find it asap since it usually provide important guidelines, funeral instructions, may list locations of important papers such as life insurance policies and safe deposit boxes. A common mistake I know from personal experience is the will being in the safe deposit box. Try asking your other family members/friends if they knew which lawyer he/she might have used and most people tend to use the same lawyer who set-up the will to handle the probate. Last but not least, please contact a professional advisors/attorney in your home state of Minnesota. Thanks for your attention and I hope that helps!
