Description: Final polishing stage for an MS Word document to an e-book conversion.

If you have experience of creating, type setting and post editing a
technical e-book document we would like to see your bid. An example of
previous work undertaken would be advantageous.

Project Outline

The project is a C#.NET beginners course, in which there is currently between 300 - 400 pages. The contents is mainly style formatted text, however there are some embedded images and tables.

Your Role

* Review and modify current styles in the word template.
* Ensure the document has a professional look at feel and is consistent
throughout.
* Add graphics or other features if needed.
* Help us create a marketing plan for this ebook and announcement
texts and press-releases.

It would help the cause if you are experienced in the field of software
development.

This sounds like a great project, and I could certainly do the tasks required. I'm a little concerned that your estimate of 20 hours of work is low, unless the existing document is in extremely good shape already. 300-400 pages is a large document. Editing it, formatting, and creating graphics could easily take 20 hours or more, depending on the current state of the material. And--if you are creating an e-book for mass distribution, it's very important that this looks professional. I have created e-books, as PDF documents, with TOC live links for page numbers. I have also created a marketing plan for my own books and art, and am currently marketing these items via press releases, ebay auctions, search engine optimization, and startintg the process of linking to targeted sites. There are a number of ebook distribution centers that we could contact. Again, it's very important the content look very profession, or you will vastly reduce the number of people who will be interested in this book. This sounds like a great project--so please do count me in on the bids. I just would like you to also be realistic about the time the project might take. It may be double what you estimate.
