Description

Requirements
This Project is to develop a prototype for a commercial Internet based Job Search software product that will provide IT professionals with an automated Job finding & application service. The tool will run on a Windows client and store the results of spidering multiple jobsites (websites with Jobs) into a database that allows offline searching, filtering & matching against a candidates skill set.

Jobs identified as good matches (job title/location/rate/skills) can then be applied for via email and covering letter with minimum effort. A simple workflow will allow jobs applied for to be tracked. Basic contact management is also required.

Product
A Windows client side solution is required to provide performance and overcome copyright constraints. A server-side & website component will be required to manage accounts, payments, messaging, WAP & remote access.


Functional Spec
A requirements document & Functional specification is being written and initial analysis is underway.

User Base
The prototype will be distributed to a trial user community of 2-300 for user acceptance testing followed by a limited early adopter roll-out, while commercial backing is obtained to finance a launch product, national marketing campaign & eventual launch to market 4Q2004.

Demo
A working "Demo" has been developed in Access2003 and is currently in use by the architect as a proof of concept. This willb e made available to shortlisted bidders to help refine their estimates.

Team Location
Bids are required by teams (ideally located in the UK but not essential) who are willing to take on the development of this prototype application.

Future Revenue
The company or team who develop the prototype will be in a strong position to develop the commercial product thereby generating additional income.

Experience
The prototype developer must be familiar with a RAD development methodology and support the development of the prototype though a dynamic & creative contribution. The RAD approach will dictate the timescales so project duration estimate is not important.

Architecture
Familiarity with XML, WAP, SMS & email smtp/mime/html an advantage. Development Language thought to be a combination of C++ and VB.net although alternative suggestions are sought that meet the design goals.

Bidders
Please provide brief response stating why your team should be awarded this project, where you are located, previous relevant experience and an overview of your software development skills. The development team will be expected to contribute to the overall design so good written & verbal (English) communications skills are important.
